1.Introduction
The Department of Management Science was established in 2024, comprising faculty members formerly from the Department of Management Science and Engineering. As of October 2026, the department has 18 full-time faculty members, including 3 full professors (all doctoral supervisors), 8 associate professors, and 7 lecturers. All faculty members hold doctoral degrees, and 88% of them have overseas study or visiting/training experience.
The department currently offers one Ph.D. program in the second-level discipline of Management Science and Engineering, one master's program in Management Science and Engineering, and one undergraduate program in Information Management and Information Systems. Its main research areas include Production and Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing Management, Modern Supply Chain and Smart Logistics Management, Data-Driven Operations Decision-Making, Intelligent Healthcare Management, Decision Theory and Methods, and Management Modeling and Optimization. The department is committed to cultivating high-level interdisciplinary talent equipped with new business models and methods for the digital economy, an organic integration of next-generation information technology and excellent management practices, and capabilities in pioneering information-based management and leading digital innovation.
In recent years, faculty members have secured more than 20 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and over 30 provincial- and ministerial-level research projects. Their research has been published in top international and domestic journals, such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Tourism Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Management Sciences in China, and Systems Engineering — Theory & Practice, demonstrating first-class research standards. In addition, the faculty have received 1nationalfirst-class undergraduate course, 3 national planned textbooks, and more than 10 provincial- and ministerial-level achievement awards.
